Lake Resources NL Snapshot

Lake Resources NL (ASX:LKE, Lake) is a lithium exploration company undertaking an aggressive programme to explore prime lithium basins and lithium pegmatites in Argentina, among some of the largest players in the lithium sector. Lake holds one of the largest lithium tenement packages in Argentina (~165,000 Ha), controlled 100% by Lake.

Olaroz/Cauchari Lithium Brine Project

The Olaroz/Cauchari Lithium Brine Project (~19,000 Ha) is located in Jujuy Province, immediately adjacent to the Olaroz lithium brine operations of Orocobre Ltd (ASX:ORE) and the Cauchari lithium brine projects being developed by Lithium Americas Corp (TSXV:LAC), SQM (NYSE:SQM), Gangfeng and Advantage Lithium Corp (TSXV:AAL). Access is being sought for drilling to demonstrate that similar lithium brine aquifers are accessible in Lake leases and lease applications.

Paso Lithium Brine Project

The Paso Lithium Brine Project (~29,000 Ha) is located in Jujuy Province adjacent to the border with Chile, in the next salt lake immediately west of the Orocobre's Olaroz lithium brine production. Initial sampling indicated elevated results. Access is being sought for drilling to provide information and chemistry on potential lithium brine bearing aquifers.

Kachi Lithium Brine Project

The Kachi Lithium Brine Project (~49,000 Ha) is located in Catamarca province, approximately 100km south of FMC's Hombre Muerto Lithium brine production operation. The Kachi Project overlies a large area of contiguous leases and lease applications, centred around a salt lake within a large basin almost 100km long with initial results up to 322 ppm Li at surface and more results expected. Drilling is planned in Q2 of 2017 together with geophysics. Camp logistics, water supply and access is being prepared during February/March/April 2017.

An initial auger sampling programme over the salt lake identified encouraging results. Further results from a systematic auger sampling programme of approximately 40 samples over 20,000 Ha are expected during early March 2017. The exploration programme will continue with ground based electrical geophysics followed by drilling, with drill targets refined with further results.

Catamarca Pegmatite Project

The Catamarca Pegmatite project (~72,000 Ha) is located in Ancasti, Catamarca Province, approximately 50km east of the city of Catamarca, with good all-year road access at altitudes of 300-800m.

The area is known historically for small scale production from an area of lithium bearing spodumene pegmatites in the Ancasti Ranges. A technical review considered that the belt of pegmatites was substantially larger than the previously known areas. Literature reviews, satellite image studies and field visits helped identify a series of pegmatite swarms with lithium bearing potential over a belt of approximately 150km.
