Mattel ventures into the world of non-fungible tokens

Because kids need to be torn away from playing with real toys to spend more time on computing devices

Mattel, Inc (NASDAQ:MAT), the US toy company that makes Barbie dolls and Hot Wheels cars, is moving into the non-fungible token (NFT) world.

The company has signed a partnership with Cryptoys, a marketplace that is expected to launch in the summer of this year on the Flow blockchain.

The partnership will see Mattel’s intellectual property transformed into playable avatars sold on the Cryptoys platform.

Incredibly surreal moment...

Today I'm very excited to announce a new partnership between @Cryptoys and @Mattel to usher in a whole new era for the world of toys.
