Animoca Brands Corporation boasts income of A$827 million from first four months of 2022 in unaudited financial highlights

Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd has released positive unaudited financial and business highlights for the last three months of 2021 and the first four of 2022, ending April 30.

The company’s numbers include contributions from its key business units, including The Sandbox, GAMEE, nWay, Blowfish Studios, Grease Monkey Games, REVV Motorsport, TOWER, Quidd, Lympo and Forj (formerly Bondly), in addition to blockchain service revenue from portfolio investments and partnerships.

Animoca Brands is a private company, focused on digital entertainment, blockchain, gamification and artificial intelligence. The company develops, publishes and financially backs a broad portfolio of blockchain, metaverse, crypto and NFT-related projects.

Financial and business highlights

Animoca Brands posted booking and income of A$213 million for the three months ending December 31, 2022, and A$827 million for the four months ending April 30, 2022.

Bookings include token sales, NFT sales including secondary sales, and other non-blockchain activities.

The company’s portfolio investments were valued at in excess of A$2.2 billion across more than 340 investments as of April 30, with a cash balance of A$141 million and digital asset holdings of A$304 million in the form of USDC, USDT, BUSD, ETH and BTC.

Other digital asset holdings include third-party cryptocurrency tokens valued at A$952 million, while company digital asset reverses were valued at A$6.1 billion, which were not included in the balance sheet.

These reserves include the Animoca Brands tokens SAND, QUIDD, PRIMATE, REVV, TOWER, GMEE and others.

On the business side of things, Animoca Brands acquired several companies to expand its gaming and Web3 capabilities, established joint ventures with Cube Entertainment, Planet Hollywood and OneFootball, and partnered with Yuga Labs on the Otherside project, a metaverse game of the Bored Apes Yacht Club.

The company also launched several new tokens and NFT mints, sold the Phantom Galaxies game for US$19.3 million and expanded its presence in Japan with the establishment of strategic subsidiary Animoca Brands Japan.

As a final note in the announcement, Animoca Brands said it continued to work towards completion of its outstanding financial reporting requirements.
