Graeme McFarlane, the chief commercial officer of Albert Labs International Corp (CSE:ABRT), explains what a recent study of psilocybin’s effect on depression means for the company’s first trial drug, KRN-101.
He described the paper from Imperial College London as “excellent”, saying it signposted the need for pragmatic or real-world evidence studies to examine how psilocybin works on day-to-day treatment, “which is exactly the direction Albert Labs is going in”.
“It also supports Albert Labs’ goal of generating well-controlled data-driven real-world evidence studies to illustrate the effectiveness of our KRN-101 psilocybin treatment,” McFarlane said. “This allows us to bring our proprietary psilocybin to market quickly and to achieve our overall aim to provide early access for patients in real need of an innovative and effective alternative.”
