Bitcoin and Ethereum slump as dip buying slips

The top digital asset prices were falling as Wednesday progressed.

Bitcoin traded on the back foot in Wednesday afternoon’s trade as bargain hunting dip grabbers failed to keep this morning’s going this morning’s earlier momentum.

Stretching the heavy sell-off in January, February’s second trading day saw Bitcoin down 4.35% at US$37,212.

Ethereum meanwhile fell 4.5% to US$2,658.

Both remain some 45% below the all-time highs seen in November, as rising inflation and fears that Russia and Kazakhstan will follow China’s lead and ban crypto mining has left previously rampant speculators hedging their bets.

Alt-coins Solana and Polkadot both slipped close to 3% lower, whilst doggy meme-coin Dogecoin lost 2% to US$0.1394, compared with its meme-rival Shiba Inu which eased 3.7% to US$0.00002085.

Down the pecking order, Litecoin was down 1.6% and Internet Computer gained 5.24%.
