Amryt Pharma PLC (AIM:AMYT, NASDAQ:AMYT) has been boosted by positive trial results published by Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology.

The global Phase 3 MPOWERED clinical trial compared Mycapssa, oral octreotide capsules, to long-acting injectable Somatostatin Receptor Ligands (iSRLs) for maintenance of biochemical response in patients with acromegaly.
Amryt noted that the trial was designed to support the marketing authorization application for Mycapssa to the EMA, which is currently under evaluation, and, it provides to the evidence base built with two previous Phase 3 trials which supported the US FDA approval for Mycapssa for long-term maintenance treatment in acromegaly patients.
“Many patients with acromegaly experience breakthrough symptoms and significant burdens with SSA injections, including injection site pain and reactions," said Amryt chief medical officer Dr Mark Sumeray.
