Thor Mining PLC - Thor Mining: Innovative environmentally friendly drill programme starts at Kapunda project

Thor Mining PLC (AIM:THR, FRA:T5MC, OTCQB:THORF, ASX:THR) has kicked off drilling operations at the Kapunda Copper in-situ recovery (ISR) project in South Australia.

It is an innovative drill programme that is targeting copper-gold mineralisation approximately 30m from the planned ISR facility.

Thor holds a 30% interest in EnviroCopper Ltd which is, in turn, in a partnership with MinEx CRC for the project at Kapunda.

MinEx CRC, described as the world's largest mineral exploration collaboration, is leading the drill programme which will use an innovative Coiled Tube technology. The programme is designed to trail environmentally friendly mining technology.

"It's great to see mineral exploration collaborations between industry, government and research organisations, such as this Coiled Tubed (CT) drilling program between EnviroCopper and MinEx CRC,” Thor managing director Nicole Galloway Warland said in a statement.

Based on geology and access, Kapunda is an ideal location to be trialling the next generation of CT drilling, whilst collecting geological information on the copper-gold mineralisation, which is valuable for the further development of the Kapunda Copper ISR Project."

The drill programme will run for four weeks.
