Mosman Oil and Gas Ltd (AIM:MSMN) updated on the preparations for the Winters-2 well, in east Texas, where drilling is due to start soon.
The company, in a statement, said that drilling will commence as soon as its contracted rig is available.
Mosman is the operator of the project, which is targeting the Wilcox formation, via its subsidiary Nadsoilco LLC (which is earning a 28.62% interest in the asset).
Progress towards the spud has been frustrated by the ongoing impacts of Covid-19 with the rig contractor informing the company of challenges in securing a rig crew. The company noted that further announcements will be made in regard to the commencement of drilling.
Mosman acquired its interest in the Winters venture through its purchase of Nadsoilco.
The asset is held by production, with some 969 barrels of oil sold in the last 12 months.
