Antipa Minerals Ltd (ASX:AZY) has received further high-grade results from drilling on its Minyari Dome Project in Western Australia’s Paterson Province that continue to extend the potential size of the gold-copper resource and enhance the project development opportunity.
Encouraging copper and gold results have been returned from the deposit, which is within 25 kilometres of Newcrest Mining Ltd’s Telfer Gold-Copper-Silver Mine and mineral processing facility and 54 kilometres along strike from Greatland Gold PLC (AIM:GGP, OTC:GRLGF, FRA:G8G)-Newcrest’s Havieron gold-copper development project.
Among the results was 28 metres at 1.63 g/t gold and 0.18% copper from 161 metres down hole in 21MYC0218, including 14 metres at 2.67 g/t gold and 0.32% copper from 173 metres.
Drilling set for completion in October
Antipa managing director Roger Mason said resource definition drilling continued to intersect strong gold mineralisation over wide intervals, which would support a revised resource estimate and project development studies.
“At Minyari, high-grade gold and copper mineralisation has been intersected along 500 metres of strike, down to 600 metres below the surface and across a horizontal width of up to 275 metres, and mineralisation remains open in several directions.
“The phase-2 drill program has been expanded to target resource extension targets, including Minyari East and a number of high-priority greenfield targets all less than 3 kilometres from the existing Minyari and WACA resources - the drill program is expected to be completed in October.”
Within the 28-metre intersection in hole 21MYC0218 was also 6 metres at 4.11 g/t gold and 0.38% copper from 176 metres and 1-metre at 7.88 g/t gold and 0.40% copper from 186 metres while other encouraging results are:
- 13 metres at 2.17 g/t gold and 0.40% copper from 321 metres, including 2 metres at 9.13 g/t gold, 2.01% copper and 2.19 g/t silver from 321 metres;
- 33 metres at 1.57 g/t gold, 0.72% copper and 2.01 g/t silver from 181 metres, including 7 metres at 3.04 g/t gold, 0.55% copper and 1.70 g/t silver from 187 metres, also including 1-metre at 14.95 g/t gold, 1.66% copper and 4.46 g/t silver from 191 metres.
Location of Antipa 100%-owned tenements.
Several RC holes ended in mineralisation and will be extended via diamond tails.
Around 21,400 metres of resource infill, resource extensional and brownfield discovery phase-1 drilling has been completed with three drill rigs currently on site.
The phase-2 drill program has also been expanded to evaluate Minyari East, plus other extensional resource and greenfield targets.
