Rumble Resources Ltd (ASX:RTR) (FRA:20Z) has appointed highly experienced mining executive Peter Venn as a non-executive director and bolstered its senior geological management team with the appointment of Ben Jones and Luke Timmermans.
Venn has more than 32 years of resources industry experience and has led highly successful teams in the exploration, acquisition, evaluation and development of more than 10 mining operations in Africa and Australia.
These include Syama, Golden Pride and Obotan in Africa as well as Ravenswood, Chalice, Higginsville, Marymia and Mertondale in Australia.
Venn’s experience and expertise
Venn currently serves as a non-executive director of Horizon Gold Limited (ASX:HRN) and technical director for Margosa Graphite Limited.
His most recent managerial positions have been as managing director of Margosa, an emerging producer of vein graphite in Sri Lanka, and chief business development officer with Resolute Mining Limited (ASX:RSG) (LON:RSG).
During his stint with Resolute, Venn was responsible for supervising all technical aspects of exploration, resource development, feasibility, and oversight during the design/construction/commissioning of a 1.5 million tonnes per annum oxide processing facility at the Syama Gold Project in Mali, West Africa.

Group consultant geologist
The company has appointed Ben Jones, an experienced geologist with more than 20 years of experience in advancing gold and base metal deposits in Australia, as group consultant geologist.
Jones has spent four years consulting to Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN) in WA and Qld and before this held senior management positions leading teams and advancing projects from exploration through to the development phase with Independence Group (ASX:IGO), Jabiru Metals Ltd (ASX:JML) and AngloGold Ashanti (ASX:AGG).
During this period, he oversaw the re-interpretation and successful definition of over one million ounces of gold as part of the Sunrise Dam gold mine underground feasibility study, delivered the Tropicana Gold Deposit pre-feasibility study in Western Australia and completed the Stockman copper-lead-zinc deposit pre-feasibility study in Eastern Victoria.
Senior project manager - Earaheedy
Rumble has also appointed Luke Timmermans, a geologist with more than 10 years of experience in the mining industry, as senior project manager - Earaheedy Project.
Timmermans has held senior geological roles with Gold Fields (JSE:GFI), Red 5 Ltd (ASX:RED) and Essential Metals Ltd (ASX:ESS) and was involved in the re-discovery of the King of the Hills gold deposit as a bulk mining operation and co-led a team that grew the resource estimate to greater than 3 million ounces gold.
