About the company

Eclipse Metals Ltd is an Australian exploration company focused on exploring for REE, cryolite, fluorite, siderite and quartz at its Ivigtût and Grønnedal prospects in South-western Greenland.

The company's impressive portfolio which also includes assets in the Northern Territory and Queensland and is prospective for gold, platinum group metals, manganese, palladium, vanadium and uranium mineralisation.

How it is doing

25 Mar 2024

Eclipse Metals Ltd (ASX:EPM) understands the challenges of developing viable critical minerals assets at scale, especially in the face of the immense need for these commodities as the planet chases the technologies of the future.

In a busy market, Eclipse stands out as a forward-thinking, ESG-conscious company, poised for growth in the critical minerals domain.

Along with its projects in Australia, it boasts a play in Greenland – a long-overlooked tier-one jurisdiction, at least for rare earths and critical minerals.

Add to this a robust technical team and a commitment to sustainable development and strong stakeholder relationships, and you have a company ready to tackle mining in the 21st century.

Eclipse Metals Ltd (ASX:EPM) is encouraged by the possibility of an early restart of the Ivigtût cryolite mine within its 100%-owned multi-commodity project in southwest Greenland after identifying potentially valuable polymetallic mineralisation in waste rock from the historic mine.

Five bulk samples collected by trenching of the mineralised waste dumps contained visible sulphide minerals that could be processed to create concentrates containing silver, zinc, gallium, copper, lead and gold.

Eclipse Metals Ltd (ASX:EPM) is preparing to put the Grønnedal rare earth element (REE) prospect within its 100%-owned Ivigtût Project in Greenland under the microscope after results from a maiden percussion drill program indicate widespread and deep-seated REE mineralisation.

Drilling results have confirmed high ratios of up to 50% of the commercially more valuable magnetic REEs praseodymium and neodymium.

Insight: Uranium makes its return

12 May 2023

Though 2023 has been called on more than one occasion “the year for uranium”, it nevertheless remains in public consciousness a commodity of some controversy.

History is dotted with nuclear-related incidents — Chernobyl, Fukushima, the Kyshtym disaster — and it’s these moments that spring to mind when we think of uranium. But that is perhaps a testament more to the rigidity of human memory than anything else.

What management says

21 Aug 2023

Eclipse Metals Ltd (ASX:EPM) chairman Carl Popal tells Proactive he’s encouraged by the possibility of an early restart of Ivigtût cryolite mine within its 100%-owned multi-commodity project in southwest Greenland after identifying potentially valuable polymetallic mineralisation in waste rock from the historic mine. Five bulk samples collected by trenching of the mineralised waste dumps contained visible sulphide minerals that could be processed to create concentrates containing silver, zinc, gallium, copper, lead and gold. The company has initiated metallurgical test-work to evaluate the potential for producing a saleable mineral concentrate on site.
