VIP Gloves Ltd (ASX:VIP) has appointed Kay Wen Chen as director following the passing of her father Wee Min Chen in May.
Mr Chen was the company’s executive director and significant shareholder at the time of his passing.
He was instrumental in the formation of the company’s glove manufacturing operations in Malaysia in 2016 and recently worked with VIP's management team to complete the commissioning of new production lines 5+6.
Kay Wen Chen currently holds 895,000 shares and 775,000 Class B Performance Rights in VIP.
"Untimely passing"
VIP Gloves chairman Dr Joe Wong said in May that Mr Chen was a wonderful businessman and a family man.
Mr Chen leaves a team of capable staff with the relevant technical expertise to continue with the installation of lines 7+8 and the proposed new factory on adjacent land with eight double former lines.
VIP’s accelerated production of nitrile gloves in Malaysia is continuing despite a total lockdown in the country for 14 days from June 1 due to escalating COVID-19 cases.
