Shield Therapeutics PLC (LON:STX) has appointed two new independent directors: Fabiana Lacerca-Allen and Anders Lundstrom.
Lacerca-Allen is chief compliance officer at San Francisco-based Aimmune Therapeutics, while Lundstrom is chief commercial officer at Banner Life Sciences, which is launching a new treatment for Multiple Sclerosis.
Lacerca-Allen will join the audit committee, while Lundstrom will take a seat on Shield’s remuneration committee, replacing Rolf Hoffmann, who is departing at the next annual meeting.
“Fabiana's extensive experience and knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and her US compliance experience along with Anders' extensive experience and knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and his US commercialisation experience will significantly strengthen the current board structure whilst Shield prepares for the US launch of Accrufer,” said chairman Hans Peter Hasler.
Accrufer, or Feraccru as it is also known, is a breakthrough drug for iron deficiency. The company’s flagship product is soon to go on sale in the States.
