Jindalee Resources Ltd (ASX:JRL) has received further drilling results from a 15-hole program completed late in 2020 which have extended the McDermitt lithium resource in southeast Oregon and confirmed substantial thickness and continuity of mineralisation from surface.
Results have now been received for 11 holes, with another four drill hole results expected by mid-March.
The latest assays for hole MDRC012 include 58 metres at 1611ppm lithium from 1.5 metres, including 12.2 metres at 2617ppm lithium and 27.4 metres at 1477ppm lithium from 88.9 metres.
Density of drilling is expected to be adequate to extend the current inferred mineral resource and exploration target and convert existing inferred mineral resources to indicated status ahead of a possible scoping study.
Building on previous results
In February 2021, the company announced the assay results for the first 10 holes completed at McDermitt in 2020 with significant intersections reported in every drill hole including:
- 9.2 metres at 2243ppm lithium from 140.3 metres, including 15.3 metres at 2459ppm lithium from 155.6 metres;
- 18.3 metres at 1992ppm lithium from 58 metres;
- 30.5 metres at 1939ppm lithium from 39.7 metres, including 29 metres at 2164ppm lithium from 97.6 metres; and
- 29 metres at 1948ppm lithium from 19.8 metres.
Resources within 100 metres of surface
In late 2019 the company announced an inferred mineral resource of 150 million tonnes at 2,000ppm lithium at 1,750ppm lithium cut-off.
The entire inferred resource sits within 100 metres of surface and is flat lying, both positive factors for future project economics.
During December Jindalee paused its drilling program, with 15 holes of a proposed 21-hole program completed.
All holes were vertical and predominantly drilled using the wet reverse circulation (RC) method.
Samples were collected at 5-foot (1.52-metre) intervals and submitted to ALS (Reno, Nevada) for analysis for lithium and 47 other elements using ICP-MS.
