Hannigan was formerly the chief executive officer of Aston Resources Ltd, during which he led the company to become one of Australia’s largest publicly-listed resources companies.
Aston raised around $2 billion in funding to acquire and develop the Maules Creek Coal Project, through to first production before merging with Whitehaven Coal Ltd (ASX:WHC) (OTCMKTS:WHITF) (FRA:WC2) in a deal valued at in excess of A$5 billion.
