Tempest Minerals Ltd (ASX:TEM) has intersected further gold mineralisation during recent reconnaissance drilling at the Warriedar West Project in Western Australia.
Additional assays have been received from recently completed drilling confirming the presence of gold at Wee Lode with a highlight of 1-metre at 5 g/t gold from 7 metres in hole WARDH0013.
The maiden drill hole into this mineralised zone returned shallow high-grade gold values and remains open at depth and along strike.
Warriedar West Project
Warriedar West Project is a large-scale exploration project in the Murchison Province of Western Australia and Tempest targeting intrusive related gold (IRG) and orogenic gold mineralisation.
Drilling was focused on several target areas of shallow, outcropping zones of highly altered silica-rich intrusive and previously mapped large outcropping quartz veining.
Previous rock chips samples at the surface returned grades up to 8 g/t gold.
Drilling results
The recently completed drilling program tested targets in the northwest of the project identified during early reconnaissance sampling and mapping.
They include large areas of intense alteration and quartz veining.
The maiden targeted drill hole intersected several metres of weathered mineralised quartz vein and this intersection is down dip of the existing Wee Lode outcrop which previously yielded rock chip samples up to 8 g/t gold.
This mineralised quartz zone is in line with the predicted depth and extends the continuity of the vein down-dip, however, the mineralisation remains open in all directions.
Next steps
The company is waiting for results from further assays and will plan future work based on the results.
Tempest’s plan for drilling at the Messenger Project is also progressing.
