Weebit Nano Ltd (ASX:WBT) has appointed non-volatile memory (NVM) veteran Ishai Naveh as chief technology officer (CTO).
Naveh will drive the company’s technology development, adapting it to target markets, differentiating it from the competition and supporting Weebit’s engagement with manufacturing facilities and technology transfers towards commercialisation.
The company believes Naveh’s deep technology understanding in the NVM domain in general, and ReRAM technologies specifically, will assist in progressing Weebit Nano’s technology development and market adoption.
“A strategic addition”
Weebit Nano CEO Coby Hanoch said: “Ishai is a strategic addition to Weebit Nano’s management team as we prepare for productisation and commercialisation of our silicon oxide ReRAM technology.
“In addition to his extensive understanding of non-volatile memory, Ishai has spent the past 13 years developing ReRAM technology.
“His broad strategic understanding of the memory world, with a focus on ReRAM, will be a valuable addition as we progress our growth plans.”
Naveh is an industry veteran with more than 35 years’ experience in the semiconductor field, ranging from process development and integration, silicon manufacturing, setting technology requirements and directing technical teams to address customers’ needs.
While serving at Tower Semiconductor since 1993, he was responsible for NVM and Foundry Technologies.
Later in 2007, Naveh co-founded Adesto, one of the early ReRAM companies, leading technology and product definition and adaptation for market requirements.
"Excited to join Weebit Nano"
The new CTO said: “I’m a strong believer in the advantages of ReRAM and its ability to become the next leader in the semiconductor memory industry.
“Weebit Nano’s ReRAM technology is very robust, demonstrating enhanced performance while using standard silicon oxide material to further its cost competitiveness.
“I’m excited to join Weebit Nano at this exciting period for the company and look forward to being part of the team that takes the technology to mass production and commercialisation.”
Amir Regev, who originally established Weebit Nano’s technology development, has also been appointed VP Technology Development, focusing on the continued enhancement of the company’s ReRAM technology and development of the standalone solution.
The company is a leader in the development of next-generation computer memory technology and plans to become the new industry standard in the space.
Hanoch said: “The recent capital raises enabled us to strengthen our world-class executive team, adding industry leaders such as Eran Briman, Ilan Sever and now Ishai Naveh, complementing a board second to none in terms of its semiconductor experience.
“Weebit Nano is very well-positioned to capitalise on the exciting global growth opportunities we see for our technology.”
