Ryanair, Wizz Air see traffic well below normal in June, but Wizz adding new routes

The two air carriers flew 400,000 and 500,000 passengers, respectively, down 97% and 86% on a year earlier

Ryanair Holdings plc (LON:RYA) and Wizz Air Holdings PLC (LON:WIZZ) have posted traffic levels well below normal for June as the coronavirus travel restrictions continue to bite.

Ryanair flew 400,000 passengers and Wizz flew 500,000 passengers last month, down 97% and 86%, respectively, on June 2019.

Ryanair operated 2,800 flights in June against the 79,600 it budgeted for.

Wizz Air has revealed it is launching 64 new routes across Europe and Russia, with three new bases opening in St. Petersburg, Romania and Germany. The eastern Europe-focused airline also expanded its fleet with two new aircraft.
