The company’s InfernoAR platform is capable of hosting large-scale events of up to 1 million people with virtual lobbies, live presentations and custom holographic product displays.
“As an event provider that handles more than 100 on-ground events yearly for mostly multi-national organizations, we were delighted to have built a strong partnership very quickly with the NexTech AR team to help us bridge the gap between on-ground & virtual events,’” said Ezzeldin Delawar, commercial manager for Skybridge in a statement.
NexTech CEO Evan Gappelberg pointed out that the company is getting requests daily from potential customers, prompted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, looking to change in-person meetings and conferences into virtual events
“We expect a permanent shift by up to 40% for a business that requires in-person meetings and conferences,” Gappelberg said.
“COVID-19 has created a huge opportunity for us with business leaders globally realizing the potential financial benefits of offering a more fluid work and events environment, using AR, and video conferencing.”
NexTech, based in Toronto, is currently pursuing the use of its augmented reality technology across four key verticals: e-commerce, education, entertainment and advertising. The AR industry is estimated to hit $120 billion by 2022.
