Archer Materials Ltd (ASX:AXE) (FRA:38A) has contributed to the development by the CSIRO of a comprehensive roadmap titled Growing Australia’s Quantum Technology Industry.

The roadmap, CSIRO Futures (2020) Growing Australia’s Quantum Technology Industry, focuses on activities that can enable successful development, demonstration and commercialisation of emerging quantum technologies.

Vision for unlocking potential

It provides a vision for unlocking the potential of emerging quantum technologies and positions Australia to capture a four billion-dollar opportunity.

As well as Archer Materials, which is developing a world-first 12CQ chip, other contributors to the roadmap were industry, research and government organisations.

Archer is developing the technology for quantum computing operation at room-temperature and integration onboard modern electronic devices.

Shares rise again

Shares have risen again today with a new record high of 81.5 cents set after a rise of in excess of 17% from yesterday's close before some profit-taking took place.

The company encourages shareholders and investors to read the roadmap as it identifies and details the various risks and commercial opportunities associated with quantum technologies in Australia.

This includes quantum computing and how this can be transformed to economic value.

Substantial opportunities

According to the roadmap, quantum technologies can create an $86 billion global industry by 2040 and quantum computing will present substantial opportunities for economic growth in Australia in the coming decades.
