Frontier IP higher as Pulsiv Solar awarded Japanese patent

The patents cover Pulsiv’s power conversion and solar microinverter technologies and are the 13th awarded globally

Frontier IP Group PLC’s (LON:FIPP) portfolio firm, Pulsiv Solar has been granted a patent in Japan for its power and charging technology.

The IP investment firm, which owns 18.9% of Pulsiv, said the company has also integrated its technology into a standard battery charger, significantly improving its energy efficiency and attracting “strong interest” from potential industry partners.

The patents granted cover both Pulsiv’s power conversion and solar microinverter technologies and are the 13th awarded globally. The firm has also received patents in other countries including the US, China, Taiwan and Australia.

Frontier added that Pulsiv has also received a £129,929 grant from Innovate UK, the UK's Innovation agency.

"Pulsiv continues to go from strength to strength. Its success in integrating its technology into a standard battery charger used by devices such as power tools worldwide is a further demonstration of the Company's enormous potential", said Frontier IP’s chief executive Neil Crabb in a statement.

Frontier's shares were up 1.9% at 70.8p in mid-morning trading on Wednesday.
