Mining engineer Joe Ranford has been appointed to the board as a non-executive director and this takes effect today.
Highly experienced geologist Eric Whittaker has been appointed as Andromeda’s chief geologist.
The company's board is excited to have both join the Andromeda team as the company moves forward with the Poochera Halloysite-Kaolin Project in South Australia.
Senior management experience
Ranford has a wealth of industry experience gained in senior management roles with domestic and international mining companies.
His most recent role was chief operating officer for Nordic Gold Inc, a Canadian-based company which was the previous owner of the Laiva Gold Mine in Finland.
In this role, Ranford re-established mining operations and brought the project back into production from care and maintenance.
South Australian work
Prior to that, he was operations manager for Terramin Australia Limited (ASX:TZN) where he managed all operational and technical aspects of the Angas Zine Mine and championed the evaluation and approval processes for the Bird in Hand Gold Project.
Both projects are in the community sensitive Adelaide Hills district of South Australia.
Andromeda said his experience gained in bringing mining operations into production and considerable knowledge of the state’s mining approval processes and managing key stakeholder engagements would be invaluable in assisting to move Poochera through the feasibility and approval phases and into production.
Whittaker was previously exploration manager for Terramin and was responsible for exploration activities for that company in Australia and Algeria.
He has broad experience in the preparation and submission of mining lease applications and the approval processes to be followed in South Australia.
The new chief geologist also has experience in holding responsibilities for resource estimations and mining and greenfields exploration activities.
