RIU Explorers Conference “sets the tone” for the year ahead
A wide range of speakers and companies will present at the event

RIU Explorers Conference 2020 in Fremantle, WA, next week has drawn an impressive line-up of speakers ranging from many leading junior and mid-cap mining companies to various industry experts.

Mining company representatives will outline their projects to conference attendees while industry experts will outline trends and factors influencing the mining sector.

The event opens on Tuesday afternoon, February 18, and continues until Thursday, February 20.

Setting the tone for 2020

Organised by Vertical Events, the conference is now in its 19th year.

Vertical Events managing director Stewart McDonald said that the conference was the opening event in the mining calendar and set the tone for the year ahead.

He said: “It’s the season opener – everyone is back from holiday, they’re feeling good, they’ve done their quarterlies and now they’re ready to work.

“It’s a get together for the local industry to gauge the year ahead.”

Vertical Events doesn’t determine the success of an event by attendance numbers or specific speakers, but more on the overall mood – and McDonald said the mood at RIU was always good.

“Everyone looks forward to the conference," he said.

“Half the people come for the talks, half the people come for the networking, but either way it’s a really fun three days.”
