Pets at Home Group PLC - Pets at Home adopts Ian Burke as non-executive chairman

Pets at Home Group PLC (LON:PETS) has appointed Ian Burke as a non-executive chairman with Tony DeNunzio to step down after ten years in the role.

Burke has been chair of school equipment supplier Studio Retail Group PLC (LON:STU) since 2017 and is also a non-executive senior independent director of troubled real estate investment trust Intu Properties PLC (LON:INTU).

The pet care business said Burke also has “extensive” board experience in companies such as UK-focused Thistle Hotels, Vet Partners and gambling company Rank Group PLC (LON:RNK).

DeNunzio, who oversaw the transition from a private enterprise to a public listing, is leaving according to a new corporate governance code.

Shares dipped 1% to 302.8p in early morning trades.
