Legend Mining Ltd (ASX:LEG) has received the final assay results for diamond hole RKDD007 drilled at the Mawson Prospect within the Rockford Project in the Fraser Range of Western Australia.
After receiving initial assays for the hole in December 2019, the final assays revealed a broad high-grade intersection of 70.15 metres at 0.52% nickel, 0.36% copper and 0.03% cobalt from 88.2 metres depth.
Significantly, the structural report confirms RKDD007 was drilled across mineralisation and not down dip.
Drill across and not downdip
Legend’s managing director Mr Mark Wilson said: “These assays and the structural observations from hole 007 have confirmed this hole to be a new discovery for Legend.
“The key takeaways are:
- The mineralisation starts at a relatively shallow depth of 76m.
- The mineralised intercept is 70m long and contains a 14.9m higher grade zone.
- The structural report confirms RKDD007 has been drilled across mineralisation and not down dip.
- The structural report contains observations of several important characteristics of the mineralisation which are remarkably similar as those at the Nova-Bollinger deposit."
Aircore and diamond drilling planned
“We are currently developing a 3D model of Mawson using the structural information from hole 007 and all other available data.
“This model will be used to plan the next diamond drillhole programme which is scheduled to commence later this first quarter of 2020.”
Legend intends to conduct an infill aircore drilling program at 200x200 metre spacing to define the extend of the anomalous nickel-copper-cobalt footprint around the RKD007 hole.
This will be followed by diamond drilling aimed at defining the extent of nickel-copper mineralisation.
