Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd (ASX:AB1) had participated in a Series A financing in 2018 into Dapper Labs Inc. the company behind the successful blockchain game CryptoKitties.

Ever since CryptoKitties was released in November 2017, the concept of non-fungible token has been ingrained in the minds of developers and investors in the crypto community.

Non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, are unique cryptographic tokens with rarity, authenticity, and ownership secured and guaranteed by blockchain technology.

2019 has been the year that NFTs have gained mainstream attention with large, multinational companies currently developing NFT projects.

Mirosoft’s Azure Heroes

Recently, Mirosoft’s blockchain-based cloud platform, Azure, released its own nonfungible tokens program called “Azure Heroes” with the aim of rewarding its developer community.

Through Azure Heroes, Microsoft is on a mission to empower technical practitioners of all backgrounds.

With that as the objective, it has created a tool to inspire the community to learn, coach and build on Azure while promoting healthy and inclusive behaviour.

FC Bayern Munich NFT auction

Animoca owned Stryking recently auctioned seven bundles of official FC Bayern Munich ‘Christmas 2019 Edition’ NFTs for a total of 240.9649 ether (about US$31,100).

Auctions for FC Bayern Munich New Year 2020 Edition Legendary Player Cards has started and will last until January 6, 2020.

The Christmas 2019 Edition and New Year 2020 Edition Legendary Player Cards are both special edition official digital collectibles of the FC Bayern Munich football team.

Owners of these Player Cards will enjoy complete digital ownership of the cards with the freedom to do anything they want, including selling them on a marketplace or using them in any supported blockchain games.
