Metro Mining Ltd - Metro Mining caps off December production with a slight guidance beat
MMI loaded and shipped its 56th and final vessel for the year on 23 December

Metro Mining Ltd (ASX:MMI) guided to 3.3-3.5 million mined and shipped tonnes of bauxite in CY2019 from its flagship Bauxite Hills Mine in north Queensland.

With operations finishing up on December 23, Metro revealed it has successfully reached the upper end of guidance for the year with just over 3.5 million tonnes mined and shipped.

Metro’s managing director and CEO Simon Finnis said: “It is extremely pleasing that we’ve achieved our production guidance for the year, meaning Bauxite Hills has done that for its first two years of operations, something that is not easy, and an achievement our team should rightfully be proud of.

“I must give credit to the team onsite; their perseverance and commitment, particularly at the end of the year, to deliver the tonnage, without compromising safety or quality is a continuation of their excellent performance this year.

“I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our employees, contracting partners, stakeholders and shareholders a safe and prosperous New Year.“
