Comet Resources Limited (ASX:CRL) has appointed experienced executive and company director Matthew O’Kane as managing director.
The highly credentialed O’Kane has a career spanning 25 years which has been strongly focused on the mining and commodities sector.
He has held senior executive roles across a range of private and public companies in Australia, the USA and Asia.
Well placed to advance Springdale
This appointment sees Comet very well placed to advance the high-grade Springdale Graphite Project in south Western Australia towards the next stage of development.
O’Kane has spent the last nine years in Asia, gaining a wealth of experience and contacts in the region over a wide range of commodities, from producing companies to exploration/development plays and commodities trading.
In a statement, Comet said, “The board of Comet is delighted to have Matthew O’Kane take a lead executive role in the company and looks forward to his contributions.”
CEO will step down
Following this appointment, Philippa Leggat will step down as the company’s chief executive officer.
