Bango partners with app intelligence firm MobileAction to boost revenues for developers

Using Bango's Audiences product, MobileAction’s developers will be able to target advertising campaigns for their apps at users that are likely to spend more

Bango PLC (LON:BGO) is partnering up with app intelligence and optimisation firm, MobileAction, to boost revenues for developers from in-app payments by users.

The mobile commerce firm said that by using its Bango Audiences product, MobileAction’s developers will be able to target advertising campaigns for their apps at users that are likely to spend more, with the product having been proven to increase revenue generated from user acquisition campaigns by between 2 to 9 times compared to targeting “vanilla audiences” with no insight.

The firm also said MobileAction’s developers will be able to take advantage of “special offers” on targeted audiences listed on its marketplace, which can then be plugged into Facebook ad campaigns “with no effort by the developer”.

“Consumer spending in apps will reach over US$155bn worldwide by 2023…Competing for a share of this spend requires increasingly sophisticated marketing and monetization techniques”, the company said.

“With the worldwide average cost to acquire a paying user in a gaming app costing $35.42…the ability to go straight to new users with a history of paying in apps can turn a loss-making campaign into a profitable line of business”, they added.

Ray Anderson, Bango’s chief executive, said the company’s marketplace “showcases high value audiences of users with a proven interest in paying for games and other digital content” and that developers will now have “a unique way to boost revenue earned from in-app payments and other charging models”.

In early trading on Monday, Bango's shares were up 1.1% at 134p.
