Shares in Starvest (AIM: SVE) jumped this morning after Impala Platinum agreed to a 55 pence per share takeover of African Platinum (LSE: APP). Starvest holds 10.25 million shares in African Platinum, and will receive gross proceeds of £5.6375 million when the takeover is complete.
African Platinum is Starvest's largest holding.
Shares in Starvest rose 16.7% to 24.5p this morning and have gained over 50% in the last few days.
