COMPANY SNAPSHOT: Domino’s Pizza, Afferro Mining, Bullabulling Gold, Sirius Minerals, Atlantic Coal, Trapoil, ImmuPharma

Pizza delivery favourite Domino’s (LON:DOM) reported yet another period of growth in the latest quarter and expects to build on this in the fourth quarter, which is traditionally its strongest trading period, as people choose to eat in rather than out as the cold weather sets in.

The “challenging economic climate” meant the company grew like-for-like sales in the UK by 3.7%, down from 4.1% in 2011’s third quarter.

Investors were put off by the slight decline, sending shares down 4% in early trading.

However, like-for-likes have risen 5.1% so far this calendar year from 3.6% last year.

Afferro Mining (LON:AFF) has unearthed another sizeable exploration target after reconnaissance drilling at Ntem in Cameroon found extensive traces of iron ore.

The explorer said mineralised intersections occurred in 90% of drilling samples with grades between 37% and 47.5% iron from the surface or shallow depths.

Afferro added that the resource, which is open at depth and extends to the west, consists of a series of magnetite Banded Iron Formation zones. A phase 2 drilling programme of approximately 4,750m is now planned, to quantify an initial resource.

Bullabulling Gold (LON:BGL) has today unveiled its latest resource estimate for its flagship project.

After an increase of just over 120,000 ounces of gold the Bullabulling project in Western Australia is now believed to hold 3.5 million ounces of gold – comprising 109.3 million tonnes at a grade of 0.99 grams per tonne gold.

Sirius Minerals (LON:SXX) says it has received ‘very positive’ feedback from members of the public about its plans to build a potash mine in North Yorkshire.

In a statement the company explained that it has held six public exhibitions in the villages surrounding the mine location, near the town of Whitby. This is being carried out as part of a pre-application public consultation, and the last exhibition ends on Friday.

Over 800 people are reported to have visited the exhibitions.

Of them feedback from 743, nearly 90 per cent of all the feedback, supported the project while around 10 per cent were undecided and just 0.6 per cent were against the proposed project, Sirius said.

Pennsylvania-focused miner Atlantic Coal (LON:ATC) today told investors that it has extended its option to acquire the Pott & Bannon mining property.

The option was initially agreed in January and the company now has until March 27 to acquire the property.

As for oil and gas, North Sea explorer Trapoil (LON:TRAP) said it expects a busy six months of drilling and corporate activity as it ended the first half in a strong financial position.

The group, which at June 30 had cash reserves of £33.5 million, revealed work will start on two high impact wells, Romeo and Scotney.

The two will be drilled back to back starting this month, and either, if successful, has the potential to really move the dial for Trap.

Drug discovery and development firm ImmuPharma (LON:IMM) said it has held discussions with a “number of possible partner companies” for its potential blockbuster Lupuzor.

However, it has used its interim results this morning to showcase the potential of its cancer treatment as it outlined plans for its further development.

ImmuPharma said IPP-204106 has begun further clinical trials with the next generation of "polyplexed Nucant".
