Churchill Mining (AIM:CHL), which is rapidly advancing its 1.4 billion tonne East Kutai Thermal Coal Project in Indonesia, said that new mining laws enacted this week would "not have a material impact on the project".
Churchill was referring to the Indonesian Bill on Mineral and Coal Mining passed on 16 December 2008.
The new mining law made references to existing Contracts of Work that would be amended, but Churchill's East Kutai mining licences were not referred to "in any way".
