Predictive Discovery (ASX: PDI) has started to unlock the potential of the company's extensive 1670 square kilometre landholding in Burkina Faso, with some high grade gold strikes at the Bangaba Project.
Highlights from ten reverse circulation holes at the Tambiri prospect include:
- 5 metres at 17.1 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, including 1 metre at 71g/t gold;
- 9 metres at 2.6g/t gold, including 1 metre at 13.4g/t gold;
- 12 metres at 2.4g/t gold, including 1 metre at 12.1g/t gold; and
- 7 metres at 2.1g/t gold.
The potential at the prospect continues to grow, considering all holes intersected the Tambiri vein system, which is gold anomalous over an average true width of 14 metres and persists to at least 130 metres below the surface.
Tambiri is one of three major areas of artisanal workings at Bangaba, and covers a 2 kilometre long zone of artisanal workings over a north‐east trending quartz vein system.
Adding to the potential for more gold hits, only 320 metres of the 2 kilometre strike length has been tested by Predictive Discovery.
Paul Roberts, managing director, commented "Very high grade shoots of the type that we see at Tambiri could occur anywhere along this strike extent and may repeat at depth."
Exploration of the prospective tenements continues to move forward, with an aeromagnetic survey planned to commence shortly, with an oriented diamond core drilling planned for the next field season.
This exploration is targeted to assess the structural controls on the Tambiri quartz vein system, and enable the company to better understand the geometry and distribution of gold mineralisation.
At Bangaba, artisanal miners have produced significant quantities of gold over the past quarter of a century.
