Healthcare systems expert Avia Health Informatics PLC (LON:AVIA) revealed today it now has four clients with access to the latest version of its key Odyssey TeleAssess and PatientAssess diagnostic offerings.
The company, which specialises in clinical decision support systems, said existing clients Southern Area Urgent Care and Nottingham City PCT have both been upgraded to the latest version of its full Odyssey TeleAssess.Net system.
Meanwhile, new GP practice customers Fakenham and Millway have been given access to the firm’s Odyssey PatientAssess .Net application.
The company said that these migrations and new sales on the Odyssey.Net platform in the UK build on Avia's previously announced sales of Odyssey TeleAssess in the USA and in Australia.
The clients are managed via Avia’s wholly owned subsidiary Plain Healthcare, which is working with Askey Data Services Limited, the authorised third party connector for N3, the national broadband network for the NHS, to increase its capacity for delivering Odyssey to GPs and consortia over the coming months.
Avia notes that the ability of Odyssey PatientAssess to facilitate day time triage in the GP practice is helping to generate increasing interest in the Odyssey product range. It added: “These developments reflect the increasing use of .Net applications in live situations, both with long standing customers moving over to the .Net product and with new clients coming on board due to the ease of use and delivery of the new system.”
The firm's Odyssey range is built on a common medical content database which has been developed over the past 16 years. The computer-based systems help with rapid analysis and diagnosis of patients.
Avia is keen to point out that its growing list of partners provide market reach into geographies outside of the UK, including the United States and Australia. Only yesterday the firm announced that it had appointed two resellers in Nigeria for its Odyssey diagnostics range.
The company’s products are used by clinicians and non-clinicians to support diagnosis and find application in environments including prisons, ships, call centres, GP out of hours, walk in centres, care homes and pharmacies.
The delivery of Odyssey can be in a static or mobile environment from a PC, laptop, tablet or mobile device, with clinical content, training and services delivered via the web.
Shares in Avia were unchanged this morning at 45p, valuing the company at £2.9m.
