Cohort unit SEA wins contracts worth £5.4 mln

The MoD awarded a £1.6 million deal for software support of the Army’s Joint Battlefield Training project and a £1.75 million research contract for the development of a warship radar detection technology demonstrator, aimed at enhancing the UK’s maritime electronic warfare capability.

The French defence ministry awarded a £850,000 deal under which SEA will provide assembly and partial engineering of an underwater vehicle-mounted advanced sonar for hunting mines buried below the seabed.

The Japanese government is paying £700,000 for SEA’s Aerospace division to build a millimetre wave mechanism and electronics destined for incorporation in the Japanese Cloud Profiling Radar (CPR) Instrument. The CPR instrument will be part of the joint Europe-Japan EarthCARE satellite mission which is scheduled for launch in 2013.

SEA’s Transport division has secured a contract from Network Rail for the design, development and delivery of the Exceptional Load Management Train Routing Enquiry Engine (ELMTREE). SEA will produce a software tool that will enable Network Rail to fulfil its business targets for the responses to Freight Operating Companies requests to run exceptional load traffic over the network. The deal is valued at around £500,000.
