BT Group PLC (LON:BT.A) has confirmed it is to move its global headquarters to a new 18-floor site in the Aldgate area of London – one of its boss’ old stomping grounds.
The telecoms giant is relocating to One Braham Place, which is just next to Aldgate East station and a stone’s throw from Mansell Street, Philip Jansen’s base during his time as the chief executive of payments processor Worldpay.

Last week, BT announced the sale of its current London offices situated right next to St Paul’s Cathedral to private equity house Orion Capital Managers for £210mln.
As part of the deal, BT will lease the building back for 30 months, during which time the company will move into its new offices, a process which should be completed by the end of 2021.
CEO Jansen said the move was just the “tip of the iceberg” and part of a wider transformation programme designed to improve productivity and improve customer service.
“We've been headquartered in BT Centre for nearly 35 years and we've been looking for a building in central London that will be the home of BT for the next 35 or more. The 18 floors of our new headquarters will do just that,” the 52-year-old said.
