The well is exploring for hydrocarbons in the Caley, Baxter, Crespin and Milne Members of the Lower Keraudren Formation.
Carnarvon and Santos recently made a major discovery at the Dorado-2 well located in the same WA-437-P permit.
Shares in Carnarvon are trading up around 40% in the past month, last priced at 57 cents.
