Galan Lithium Ltd (ASX:GLN) has received  required permits for its stage II drill program at the Candelas Lithium Brine Project located on the Hombre Muerto salar in Argentina.

Permits have been received for six new holes, which will focus on the northern section of Candelas with the aim of defining a maiden JORC resource during the September quarter 2019.

Galan’s managing director Juan Pablo Vargas de la Vega said: “This is a great step for Galan in Argentina.

Earlier this month, Galan encountered the upper levels of a brine-bearing aquifer in the fifth drill hole C-05-19 at Candelas.

Today Galan has noted that C-05-19 has been completed at 380 metres with downhole geophysics and other testing confirming a heavy brine horizon from 240 metres to 380 metres.

Brine samples recorded high specific gravity readings and conductivities in excess of the capacity of the field instruments being 200 millisiemens per centimetre (mS/cm).

Samples from C-05-19 have been sent to the lab and hole C-06-19 located 1.5 kilometres from C-05-19 is set to commence immediately.
