The space-powered radio frequency reconnaissance data provider has been preparing for the launch, development of data products and the beginning of revenue from data sales.
The first Kleos Space satellite system, known as Kleos Scouting Mission (KSM), will deliver commercially available data and perform as a technology demonstration.
KSM will be the keystone for a later global high capacity constellation, which will deliver targeted daily service with the full constellation delivering near-realtime global observation.
Highly-qualified professional appointed CFO
To manage the multi-million-dollar satellite development, launch and management budget, the company appointed Ian Hackston as chief financial officer on May 9, 2019.
Hackston has held several senior leadership and finance roles with extensive experience in aerospace and satellite financial modelling as well as development.
The company believes he will bring value as revenues begin and Kleos moves to the next stage of its development.
Kleos is working toward securing early adopter contracts to coincide with Kleos’ participation at the GEOINT Symposium in San Antonia, USA, in early June 2019.
Larger volume of data contracts are also pending validation after the launch and commissioning of the satellites.
When satellite set-up, commissioning and data validation is complete, the processed data will begin flowing to customers via pre-booked API.
Kleos has assessed several ground-station service providers and is finalising selection from those shortlisted with an agreement imminent.
