Brockhurst, who also serves as company secretary, has more than 18 years experience in the finance and corporate advisory industry.
He has been responsible for the due diligence process and preparation of prospectuses on a number of initial public offers.
His experience ranges from ASX and ASIC compliance requirements, corporate and capital structuring, corporate advisory and company secretarial services and capital raising.
Peter Cook has elected to step down from his role as non-executive chairman while Brett Clark has resigned as non-executive director.
Cook’s decision was prompted by Nelson’s recent gold discoveries, which he sees as having potential conflict with his role of managing director at Westgold, Australia’s sixth largest domestic gold producer.
In a statement, Nelson said: “The company would like to thank both Mr Cook and Mr Clark for their invaluable contributions during their respective tenures.”
Earlier this month the company applied for two new tenements in the vicinity of its Socrates and Grindall gold projects in the prolific Eastern Goldfields.
If granted, the tenement applications will take Nelson’s landholding from 15 square kilometres to around 450 square kilometres.
The company’s new work programs will include follow-up and evaluation of the previous exploration in the area.
Nelson’s projects are within the Eastern Goldfields Superterrane of the Yilgarn Craton, which contains substantial greenstone belts, considered highly prospective for gold mineralisation.
