Esports Mogul Asia Pacific Ltd (ASX:ESH) has expanded the game title catalogue on its platform to include some of the most popular console games.

Console games have not previously been integrated on and the title expansion will engage a new target market and aggressively drive user acquisition.

The new titles will be available on the platform as part of Esports Mogul’s Silver Slam tournament series which has a prize pool of $275,000.

Esports Mogul managing director Gernot Abl said being able to offer some of the biggest console games on the market was a great feat for the company.

He said: “We will be able to extend to a new demographic of users and with a $275,000 prize pool for Silver Slam, is an appealing platform to play these games.

“I look forward to updating the market on the additional PC and mobile titles we will be integrating with.”

Accelerating user acquisition

The company is confident that offering popular console titles will drive user acquisition, with console games holding 25% of the gaming market and generating $34.6 billion in 2018, according to Newzoo.

Console titles to be hosted on are:

  • Fortnite – 200-plus million players worldwide;

  • Overwatch – 40-plus million players worldwide;

  • Rainbow Six Seige – 40-plus million players worldwide;

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 – US$500 million sales worldwide in the launch weekend alone;

  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – the fastest-selling game in the series;

  • Pro Evolution Soccer 19 – 100-plus million sales worldwide;

  • NBA 2K19 – Best-selling sports game of 2018; and

  • Tekken 7 – 37-plus million sales worldwide across the Tekken series.
