Morning news summary: WPP, De La Rue, KEFI Minerals, Caza Oil & Gas, Telit, Motorola m2m

WPP (LON:WPP) announced that its wholly-owned operating company Kantar has acquired the entire issued share capital of Spring Wirtz und Pischke GmbH & Co. KG, and spring infotainment Wirtz und Pischke Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH, a developer of systems to measure internet usage and performance of online advertising.

De La Rue (LON:DLR) said that trading since 25 September has been in line with the board's expectations for the second half of the financial year as described in the interim statement for the six months to 25 September 2010.

Amlin (LON:AML) announced that a wholly owned subsidiary has entered into an agreement to acquire Lead Yacht Underwriters Limited from members of Lead Yacht's board of directors.

Chemring Group (LON:CHG) announced that its Belgian subsidiary, Mecar S.A., has been awarded a US$145 million multi-year contract for the supply of medium and large calibre ammunition to a Middle East customer. Deliveries under the contract will commence in 2012.

KEFI Minerals (LON:KEFI) and joint venture partner Abdul Rahman Saad Al-Rashid and Sons have lodged a total of 21 ELAs in Saudi Arabia that cover an area of approximately 2,100 square kilometres. KEFI said today that the ELAs continue to advance through the approval process despite a number of minor delays.

“KEFI Minerals has continued to prepare for the remaining ELAs to be granted and expects to be progressing exploration on the ground immediately upon granting of the first licence,” the company said.

Telit Communications (LON:TCM) announced a conditional placing of 23.8 million new shares at 80 pence per share to raise £19.0 million (before expenses) in order to finance the acquisition of Motorola m2m from Motorola for a sum of $26 million.

Caza Oil & Gas (LON:CAZA) announced that development drilling has commenced on the Windham prospect in Upton County, Texas. The operator commenced the drilling of the Caza 158 #2 well on January 23, 2011.

Nyota Minerals (LON:NYO) released its quarterly report for the period to 31 December, which saw the discovery of a high-grade gold feeder zone style mineralisation at the company’s Tulu Kapi project in Ethiopia, where the preliminary economic assessment feasibility study is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2011.

ReNeuron (LON:RENE) has reached a settlement with Neuralstem, Inc. (NYSE Amex: CUR) regarding the existing litigation in the US between the parties.

Under the terms of the settlement, ReNeuron makes no admission of liability and the lawsuit will be dismissed. ReNeuron will make payments to Neuralstem tied to the successful development of stem cell products using certain of ReNeuron's cell lines relevant to the case. The detailed financial terms are undisclosed.
