Dragon Oil this morning (LON:DGO) said it completed initial testing on the Dzheitune (Lam) 28/151 well in Turkmenistan, which flowed at an initial rate of 2,656 barrels of oil a day.
The well was drilled to an initial depth of 3,512 metres using a 14-inch pipe and was completed with long and short strings. The strings flowed at 911 and 1,745 barrels per day respectively.
The rig will now go on to drill Dzheitune (Lam) 28/152. Initial testing on Dzheitune (Lam) 28/150, meanwhile, will take place “within the next week”.
Dragon chief executive Abdul Jaleel Al Khalifa said: "I am delighted to report the successful completion and initial testing of the Dzheitune (Lam) 28/151 development well.
“We anticipate the completion and testing of the Dzheitune (Lam) B/150 well shortly.
"We are pleased to have successfully commissioned the 14-inch in-field pipeline from the Dzheitune (Lam) B platform to the Dzheitune (Lam) 28 platform, increasing the throughput capacity in the Western area of the field.
“This significant upgrade to the infrastructure will eliminate network bottlenecks, as the newly added 14-, 18-, 20-inch in-field pipelines and the 30-inch trunk-line are capable of accommodating planned increases in future production."
