The new prospect comes as a result of Independence Group Ltd (ASX:IGO) making a recent discovery at the nearby Andromeda copper-zinc project.
IGO drilled 29.9 metres at 1.36% copper, 2.51% zinc, 19.9 g/t silver, 0.35 g/t gold from 548.1 metres at the discovery.
Seven kilometres from Rockford Project boundary
Legend’s managing director Mark Wilson said: “IGO highlighted the thick massive sulphide intersections at the Andromeda project in the release to the ASX on 26 July in the Fraser Range exploration summary.
“Andromeda is only 7 kilometres from Legend’s southern tenement boundary.
“This should be regarded as a complimentary additional item to the Rockford Project inventory and not a distraction from our primary focus of nickel-copper-cobalt discovery.”
Legend’s tenure contains 24 kilometres of same host stratigraphy as IGO’s Andromeda project.
Legend is designing an exploration program to test this prospective trend comprising a combination of aircore drilling and innovative high power electromagnetics.
The program is scheduled to commence in September following receipt of all necessary statutory approvals.
