Anova Metals Ltd (ASX:AWV) has produced an estimated 1,600 ounces of gold during June from its Second Fortune gold project in Western Australia.
The mining of levels one and two have now been completed with stockpiles of Second Fortune ore continuing to be transported to the Burbanks Mill for processing.
Milling of ore ongoing
Processing is part of the first milling campaign which is expected to continue until mid-July.
A mining design review is being completed for level three onwards which involves the use of more traditional narrow vein mining techniques.
Staged development strategy
Anova is conducting a staged development strategy at Second Fortune as means to de-risk the project.
The mining operations for the first stage, which comprised of levels one and two, were completed in June.
Plan is to recommence mining on lower levels
Negotiations with mining contractor GBF to recommence mining activities on the lower levels of the deposit are progressing well.
Anova expects to be able to provide further information on the appointment of GBF for the next stage of production prior to the end of July.
