eSense-Lab Ltd (ASX:ESE) has achieved robust antioxidant activity for its medical cannabis terpene blends, manifested by a dose response of up to 5%.
Terpenes are organic compounds found in plants and are responsible for the aroma of cannabis.
eSense conducted tests for antioxidant activity across its medical cannabis terpene blends including Girl Scout Cookies, OG-Kush, Sour Diesel, Jack Herer, Daniel, Super Lemon Haze, Gorilla Glue, Chees and Granddaddy Purple.
A clear antioxidant activity could be seen for each one of the tested blends.
Girl Scout Cookies, OG-Kush, Sour Diesel, Jack Herer and Daniel presented the most potent antioxidant activity, while Super Lemon Haze, Gorilla Glue, Chees and Granddaddy Purple were slightly weaker but still significantly active.
Chees and Gorilla Glue were tested in alignment with similar competitor's formulations and were found to be significantly more potent in terms of antioxidant activity.
eSense to develop a terpene-infused line of beer
The company recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Netherlands-based alcoholic beverages manufacturer Progressive Brands BV to develop a beer product line that is infused with terpenes.
eSense estimates a terpene-infused product from Progressive Brands can reach the market within six months.
Progressive Brands has the ability to produce circa one million bottles of the new terpene infused product once it is developed and commercialised.
Once launched to consumers by Progressive Brands, eSense will receive royalties from the sales of the product.
