easyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) said it carried more passengers in February while the newly acquired assets at Berlin’s Tegel Airport are trading in line with expectations.
The budget airline reported a 4% increase in passenger numbers to 5.5 million last month.
The load factor, a measure of passengers against the number of seats available, rose 1 percentage points (pts) to 93% in February.
On a rolling 12-month basis, passenger numbers rose 9.2% to 82.2 million and the load factor increased 1.6pts to 93.2%.
The results excluded the Tegel operations, which easyJet bought from collapsed airline Air Belin.
However, the company said passenger numbers at Tegel continue to be in line with expectations, with further details to be provided at its first half results on May 15.
The company became the leading short-haul carrier at Tegal after taking over runway slows and aircraft from Air Berlin in December.
