A partnership between BP PLC (LON:BP.) and Kosmos Energy Ltd (LON:KOS, NYSE:KOS) has secured new exploration areas offshore West Africa.
Together they were awarded two blocks in Sao Tome and Principe's exclusive economic zone (EEZ), where Kosmos already has acreage and is expected to drill next year.

The EEZ around the small West African island spans 19 exploration blocks, and prior to this latest award, Kosmos held stakes in four blocks.
