Thred Ltd (ASX:THD) is implementing an exclusive and first-of-its-kind trial for its flagship Sweep app that includes augmented reality features.
The release will be two months ahead of schedule and during university orientation week (O-week).
Thred is one of the first companies to have successfully combined location-based messaging in a social setting, with augmented reality experiences, providing a clear pathway to revenue generation.
Release ahead of schedule
Geoff Marshall, managing director, said: "Due to the rigorous work of the team over the preceding weeks, we have accelerated our technology development on numerous augmented reality features, several weeks ahead of schedule.
"This has created the opportunity to bring forward the feature release of our augmented reality functionality for Sweep.
“The O-week program trials provide an opportunity to get first-hand feedback from real users, which in turn will fast-track the platform development, our Sweep app program and the Agent Reality execution program.”

- Test user awareness and familiarity with augmented reality;
- Test user cases that may deliver reward and/or utility-based augmented reality activity; and
- Inform the development team’s thinking on how best to introduce engagement and utility-based augment reality into the Sweep app design and features.
