Minbos Resources Ltd's (ASX:MNB) shares have entered pre-open following the ASX granting the company a trading halt.

The company requested the pause in trading to provide an update on the merger with Petril Phosphates Limited.

Minbos has previously executed a definitive binding share sale agreement to acquire 100% of Petril, its joint venture partner in the Cabinda Phosphate Project in Angola.

Petril also holds rights to two other phosphate projects in the Zaire Province.

The halt will remain in place until the opening of trade on Wednesday 29th November 2017, or earlier if an announcement is made to the market.
